On January 1, 1977 the Gun Shack officially opened at its current
location. It originally began as a small "shack" structure in the corner of a Western Auto store. From these humble beginnings, the business has thrived and grown to accommodate the diverse inventory it currently holds. In an effort to let people know that we had more than just guns however, we started using a new name.

Shooting sports is where we got our start and our experience in this field dates back to the early 1970's. We carry a complete line of firearms and ammunition as well as reloading supplies and other accessories. We have an on-site gunsmith as well as knowledgeable salespersons to answer your shooting related questions. Additionally, we carry muzzleloading supplies, knives, calls, air guns, you name it. If it has to do with shooting or hunting we either carry it or can likely get it.
Crosswind's archery department specializes in products from Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, Martin, and Browning as well as most of the popular accessory manufacturers. We offer tuning, accessory installation, and consulting services at our business location in Mt. Airy, Maryland. Our archery department is well known for its completeness and quality of service.
